The National 4-H Conference was my very first national 4-H
event that I attended during my 4-H career. As one of four delegates from the state of Kansas, I spent
a great deal of my
time with the National 4-H Technology Team. The creation of the Tech Team were direct results of
ideas and plans made at the National 4-H Conference in 1995 and 1996. In 1997, the first ever
National 4-H Technology Team was created and work began on creating the National 4-H Web.
In 1998, as a delegate to the National 4-H Conference, I was one of the twelve selected Tech Team members updated the
conference website and also made plans and goals for the coming year. I not only remember
the hardwork and dedication that each one of us put forth at the conference, but I also
remember the staying up late in someones room talking and laughing about different 4-H events
each person had attended.
An important part of
the conference includes writing a report about how to improve 4-H and 4-H programs. As part of
the Tech Team, we wrote a proposal on ways technology can benefit 4-H
and presented it to the entire conference delegation. To take a look at the 1998 proposal,
